Samantha’s earth-loving personality shines through her everyday life. Her passion for a more sustainable world compliments her dedication to her own inner healing. When she learned that one of the foundational principles of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) is that we are not separate from our environment, she knew she was in the right field of study.
In her late teens, some international travelling ventures immensely altered her perspective on life; specifically, the power of gratitude and the direct connection with community and happiness. This change guided Samantha to study at the Vancouver School of Bodywork and Massage where she learned deep tissue, shiatsu, reflexology, joint release, aromatherapy and more. Beginning her studies in anatomy and physiology, while delving
into the practice of hands-on bodywork affirmed to Samantha that she found a lifelong passion.
After graduating, she worked at spas, markets and festivals throughout the Sea-to-Sky corridor and Vancouver Island. She grew fonder and fonder of helping others. As a result, she felt a strong desire to dive deeper into the study of health and disease. There were many assuring signs that guided Samantha to study TCM. It was just a matter of saying, “Yes!”. Acupuncture has been a part of her self-care routine since childhood, helping her with sports and chronic over-use injuries. It wasn’t until she began her studies at Pacific Rim College, an award-winning holistic medicine institution, that she learned
there was much more to acupuncture than helping with pain. Although musculo-skeletal injuries are her bread and butter, her activist-spirit strives to expand acupuncture into the community by making it more affordable, while maintaining the same healing benefits.
The various styles of acupuncture keep Samantha’s curious mind at work. The gentle reminder that “health is the ability to cope with change”, can offer us much compassion throughout our healing journey. Samantha looks forward to offering harmonious ways to help you through this human experience!
