Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic medicine blends traditional non-toxic therapies with modern scientific research to create a holistic, patient-centered model of health care that is both effective and safe. Naturopathic medicine is for everyone, at any stage in the lifespan.  It is individualized to address each person’s unique needs and emphasis is place on prevention and self-care.

It is a historical system of medicine that concentrates on whole-patient wellness.  The medicine used is specifically tailored to each individual patient and emphasis is placed on prevention and self-care.

Naturopathic physicians are extensively trained in finding and treating the root cause of illness; they aim to help patients make lifestyle choices that promote health and provide lasting cures rather than suppressing symptoms while the disease process continues.

Therapies used

Our Naturopaths will use a variety of tools in order to tap into the innate healing power of the body and promote balance; these include clinical nutrition, supplements, detoxification, herbal medicine, homeopathy, acupuncture, chelation, IV nutrients, and bio-identical hormones. The goal is to re-establish balance on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels while teaching you how to maintain life-long balance and health.

IV Nutrient Therapy

Intravenous (IV) nutrient therapy involves infusing a combination of vitamins and minerals in a base of normal saline or an electrolyte solution directly into the vein. This allows for more thorough and rapid absorption and utilization of the vitamins and minerals in tissues. This is because adding a mixture directly into the circulation will bypass the digestive system, where absorption of nutrients into the bloodstream can be impaired. Therefore, administrating nutrients intravenously allows for nutrients to reach therapeutic levels faster.

Our naturopathic doctors provide thorough health assessments that will help determine if this therapy is indicated for you. If indicated, these treatments are tailored to your individual health needs including ingredients used, as well as the number and frequency of IV treatments.

IV Iron

Intravenous (IV) iron is an effective way to correct an iron deficiency in those who do not tolerate oral iron supplements. It involves infusing a therapeutic dose of iron directly into the vein and therefore bypasses issues with absorption and side effects of oral iron.

Iron levels must be tested within 3 months of getting an iron infusion. If you have not had your iron levels tested recently, this is something that can be done through one of our naturopathic doctors prior to considering an infusion.

If you are interested in IV iron, please call the clinic to book a IV iron medical screen with one of our naturopathic doctors. Alternatively, you can book an initial consult which allows for more time to thoroughly address any underlying health concerns.

Conditions treated

Typical conditions that naturopathic doctors treat are digestive disorders, immune imbalances, allergies, food and chemical sensitivities, skin conditions, depression, anxiety, hormone disturbance, obesity, stress, fatigue, diabetes, heart disease, cancer and several others.

Education

Naturopathic doctors are required to complete an undergraduate degree in pre-medical studies before graduating from a four year program at an accredited naturopathic medical school.

Naturopathic physicians are trained as primary care providers; this allows them to run laboratory tests, perform physical exams, diagnose, and treat all health conditions.
